Client

A US-based manufacturer of engineered cryogenic gas processing equipment and small-scale process plants for liquefied natural gas (LNG), well services, and industrial gas industries with a significant presence in Southeast Asia.

Engineering Requirement

To conduct structural stress analysis of the cold box to ensure structural integrity and safety through comprehensive analysis and optimization during operational conditions.

Structural Analysis of Cold Box:

  • Perform in-place structural analysis of the Cold Box to validate its integrity under operating conditions.
  • Utilize STAAD Pro software to create a 3D model for analysis, adhering to client specifications.
  • Employ dynamic and static analysis methods, with preference given to the static method for accuracy and reliability.

Lifting Analysis:

  • Conduct lifting analysis for horizontal, inclined, and vertical scenarios to ensure safe handling during installation and maintenance.

Transportation Analysis:

  • Assess the stability of the Cold Box during land and sea transportation.
  • Analyze potential stress points and structural vulnerabilities during transportation.

Welded Connection Design:

  • Design welded connections for the cold box structural analysis of the tubular structure using Ram connection software.
  • Ensure welded connections meet industry standards for strength and reliability.

Anchor Bolt Calculations:

  • Perform anchor bolt calculations to secure the cold box during operation and transportation.
  • Verify the anchor bolt design for adequate strength and stability.

Mitigation Measures:

  • Identify members that do not meet strength criteria and propose mitigation measures.
  • Additional brace members and strengthening plates are recommended to reinforce weak structural elements.
